About Emily
I am a Bioengineering (MEng) student at the University of Sheffield, keen to help other students learn and grow. Within my degree I have specialised in the development of medical devices. This includes experience in computer-aided design, programming (Python, C++ and C#), medical physics, biomaterials and anatomy. Having enjoyed and excelled in my degree I am keen to help other students access STEM subjects at university. In addition to my degree, I have led Women in Engineering outreach projects to engage primary school students in engineering.

My lessons will be built around the student's needs. Before beginning any topics I will ask the student what they have covered so far in their classes, whether there is any content they have missed or would like to revisit and whether they have any preferred learning styles or additional learning requirements or accommodations. I can provide 1-2 hour lessons, either once or twice a week per student and am confident in teaching A-level Biology and Chemistry, and GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics. If a student would like to cover topics in GCSE physics or A-level mathematics, I have not taught these subjects before, however am happy to refresh my knowledge and give it a go. I will always ask for student feedback and value the confidence and well-being of any pupil I teach. As a result I will tailor the classes to ensure I cover topics at an appropriate pace and provide an environment where students feel comfortable to engage and ask questions.
