About Isla

My fascination with biology began with a curiosity about how living systems function, interact, and adapt. This interest led me to pursue a B.Sc in Molecular Biology followed by an M.Sc in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Over 8 years, I have mentored students from foundational biology to advanced analytical reasoning, focusing on nurturing both academic success and curiosity-driven exploration. My teaching emphasizes connecting theory to practical examples, developing critical thinking, and fostering independent problem-solving.

I teach with clarity, patience, and adaptability. Lessons are interactive, combining observation, discussion, and problem-based exercises to encourage comprehension and engagement. I guide students to question, explore, and relate concepts to real-world phenomena while building confidence in their understanding.

Outside teaching, I stay engaged with ecological research, molecular biology studies, and conservation projects, integrating these experiences into lessons to enhance relevance. Witnessing students develop analytical skills, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for life’s complexity is profoundly rewarding. My aim is to cultivate capable, curious, and informed learners in the field of biology.

About the lesson

Biology becomes fascinating when students understand the intricate relationships between cells, organisms, and ecosystems. My lessons cover genetics, molecular biology, physiology, ecology, and evolution, emphasizing hands-on observation, practical problem-solving, and conceptual understanding. I aim to make abstract processes tangible, using real-life examples, visualizations, and interactive exercises to connect theory with observable phenomena. Each session is designed to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and independent exploration, fostering deeper comprehension and enthusiasm for the subject.

Lesson plans are tailored to learners’ proficiency. Beginners focus on cell structure, basic physiology, and ecosystem fundamentals to develop foundational knowledge. Intermediate learners explore molecular mechanisms, population dynamics, energy flow, and physiological pathways to refine analytical and reasoning skills.
