About Jessica

Hi I’m Jess!
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and am currently completing my Master’s in Counseling Psychology. I’ve always had a strong interest in science and enjoy helping others understand and appreciate Biology. I’m a friendly, patient, and approachable person who genuinely enjoys working with others and supporting them in reaching their goals. My background in both science and counseling has helped me develop strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills that I bring into my tutoring. I’m excited to help students feel more confident in their abilities while making Biology feel a little less overwhelming!

About the lesson

Hello!
My name is Jess and I offer personalized high school Biology tutoring in a supportive and encouraging environment.

I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and when difficult concepts are explained in ways that make sense to them. This is a judgment free space, remember I am here to help you!

I use clear explanations, visuals, real-world examples, practice questions, help with study-techniques, and discussion to help students understand and retain the material! I believe lessons should be adapted to what each student needs, whether that means reviewing challenging topics, working through practice questions, preparing for an upcoming test, or building overall confidence in Biology.

These lessons are for any students looking for support in high school biology/AP biology, and my broad science background allows me to help with general science as well. My goal is not just to help students get the right answer, but to help them understand the “why” behind what they are learning. If this sounds like it could be a good fit for you, feel free to reach out and we can figure out the best plan for you.
