About Alexandra
I am a MSc Biology student at UNBC. I have a BSc in Biology and have 3 years experience as a Teacher's Assistant (TA) at UNBC. I am comfortable tutoring multiple topics in biology, such as plant biology, mycology, anatomy, cell biology, and much more.

I usually begin my tutoring sessions by gaining an understanding of what the student(s) have knowledge of and what they are struggling with. I then construct lesson plans to aid in understanding of material. I usually start with background information on the topic, then review key terminology required to understand the material, and then practice problems/scenarios with the student(s) and allow them to practice their work. I make sure to be available and approachable for questions at any time throughout the class and afterwards. I start the next class or tutorial session by asking the student(s) to briefly explain what we went through last time with me to ensure that they understand the topic. I find this gives them confidence and reassurance in their learning abilities and helps me to gauge whether or not my teaching techniques are working and make changes to lessons as required.
