About Irene
Hi! I’m Irene. I have been involved in teaching for 4 years, having previously worked with students age 4-16 as a teaching assistant in the UK and in Spain. I have also been a private biology tutor for 2 years! My experience has allowed me to develop my confidence in teaching students from KS1 all the way up to A-level. In addition, in my second and final year at University I tutored 1st year Biology students who were struggling with the jump from A-level to undergrad, helping them develop their statistical, critical analysis and exam writing skills.

While at school, I was always the kid in class who asked SO many questions because I often found science and maths lessons to be a huge information overload! Thanks to the patience of my teachers and a dedicated tutor I excelled in my science and maths GCSEs and A-Levels which ultimately gave me the confidence to go on and study Biology at the University of Leeds. I strive to give my students the same patience and dedication I received in school to them! My lessons focus firstly on understanding the content in depth and secondly on how to apply this content to application and analysis exam questions.

Irene was my tutor for A-level biology she was honestly an amazing teacher help me understand so much. Was very patient and willing to try to different method that would help me to understand better.
