About Vanessa
Hello! I'm a 3rd year Biology major who has been passionate about the English language for as long as I can remember! I spent summer 2019 in Italy teaching English as a second language to young Italian children and was grateful to receive a TEFL certificate in the process!
I know that learning a new language or struggling with a language is very difficult and frustrating. I've been there too! However, I really believe anyone can learn English with proper teaching! I like to focus on the basics and I try to make my lessons as visual as possible.

As a trilingual person, I understand how difficult it can be to learn a new language, or struggle with a language. I believe that without a good base, proper progress is not possible.
I model the saying "slow and steady wins the race" when it comes to teaching. I like to cover the basics thoroughly until I feel the student has a good grasp on the topic. Covering as many words, grammar rules, etc. in as little time as possible is often not ideal when learning a language.
My experience teaching English as a second language in Italy has led me to adapt a very visual teaching method. Whether with videos, songs, pictograms, etc. My students always excelled when there were visual cues involved and not solely verbal teaching.
I enjoy working with both Elementary School and High School students!
