About Erica
I am a third-year university student studying health sciences with a minor in biology. I am a straight A+ student throughout my high school learning, as well as in university. I have taken biology all throughout my academic career and absolutely love it! I have struggled through learning with teachers and professors that have not matched my learning style and it can make these fun concepts much more difficult. I would like to tutor to help others avoid those troubles and teach based on the student.

I focus on making biology clear and easy to understand by breaking concepts down into simple, step-by-step explanations and providing real life examples and metaphors. I tailor each lesson to the student’s pace and learning style to ensure every individual feels included, regardless of the individual's learning style.
In a typical session, we review any questions, go over a new concept with clear examples, and then practice together. I check in throughout to make sure everything makes sense and help build confidence along the way. It really will vary depending on the individual's needs and their preference in learning styles.
What sets me apart is that I keep things simple and low-stress, focusing on real understanding rather than memorization. This helps students feel more confident and improve their performance on tests and assignments. I have always found that a more personal connection and examples that I can resonate with helps deepen my understanding.
My lessons would primarily help high school students (Grades 9–12), or even lower year university students, who need help with coursework, test prep, or strengthening their understanding of key biology topics. I am very open to younger ages if there is any interested!
