About James
2nd year biomedical science student studying at the University of Birmingham. I got mostly firsts in my recent exams. I’m passionate about maths, biology and teaching. I achieved an A in maths a level and 9 in GCCE, as well as A* in GCSE further maths. I achieved A* in GCSE biology. I enjoy teaching/explaining things to people. Eg I gave my class a revision lesson when the teacher was ill in college, and have a friend a couple of lessons on biology when she wanted to become a paramedic.

I would cater my teaching method to the needs of the individual. We would focus predominantly on the things they struggle with. I would always try to explain and help them to understand the reasons why things are true, rather than purely getting them to memorise facts or methods. I firmly believe it is easier to remember things, and to answer application questions which form the basis of modern exams, when things are properly understood rather than merely memorised.
