About Afreen
I'm a Biotechnology postgraduate with a strong interest in making science genuinely understandable — not just accurate, but accessible. Over the past couple of years, I've worked at the intersection of science and communication: developing training content on clinical and dermatology topics for medical teams, and independently creating science-based educational content on skincare biology for a general audience. Both have taught me the same lesson — a concept isn't "taught" until it's explained simply enough that someone with no background in the subject can follow it and ask a good question back.

My approach is to break down complex biology concepts into simple, structured building blocks — starting from what students already know and moving toward the harder idea, using real-life analogies and visuals rather than just definitions. I lean on question-driven discussion instead of one-way lecturing, so students engage with the "why" behind a concept, not just memorize it. I also use short recall checks through the class to catch confusion early rather than waiting until the end.
