About Cassidy
Setting up your instrument correctly is where we start. Expect to explore shifting positions and left-hand agility.
Tuning by ear becomes second nature here. Rhythm and timing are central to our work together. We cover music theory alongside sight reading.
My 13 years of experience ensures a steady pace. Vibrato control is introduced when you are ready. Playing classical repertoire gives you a solid base. Finding the beauty in a perfectly played phrase is always the best part.

Holding a BMus from the UBC School of Music has shaped my perspective on string performance. You are likely seeking a guide who balances rigorous training with a genuine love for melody.
My 13 years of performing across Canada as a classical and folk musician informs how I approach instruction for every student. Working with grade exam candidates and absolute beginners alike keeps my methods fresh and adaptable. I enjoy assisting performance-focused students as much as self-taught players who crave formal structure.
My own path involves constant refinement through both classical technique and fiddle styles. This dual identity allows me to provide a well-rounded foundation for anyone picking up the bow. You will find that my approach is grounded in these two distinct yet complementary worlds.
