About Kikuyo
I was born and raised in Japan educated in standard Japanese. After I graduated from college, I worked for a cooperate Japan that does international trading (import and export commodities). I lived in England for 3 years, and came to the US. I raised 4 boys as a single mother and they are grown up men now. I am athletic in nature and have always exercised different skills such as martial arts, tennis, skiing, boating, dancing, swimming, cycling, hiking, yoga, and so on. Currently, I am practicing yoga daily. I am spiritual and love meditation, nature and animals. I love hiking to see birds and animals. I'd rather like to live naturally avoiding a lot of noise. I am a kind person who love to help others.

Timely Introducing and explaining the Japanese cultures, history, travel, food, and etc relating to the topics in the textbook. Always starting the lesson with students' free speech to my questions from the previous lessons. Or let students translate from English to Japanese written on the board or what I say. I have an instructor's skill as taught other skills as well such as dancing over the decades. I am not too strict, but make the lesson more enjoyable and let students learn about Japan and language from my different talks. I use several different books and workbooks depending on the students needs. Always go over the vocabularies, pronunciations, and grammars based on the textbook. The students get sufficient amount of exercises until they get what they learned. Also learn how to write Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji so that they gain the ability to write sentences with them and to read. I also prepare the students for Japanese proficiency test N5-N1. I teach all level students beginners to advanced.
