About TANIA

Bonjour ! I was born in France to a Canadian mother from Winnipeg and a French father. I studied and lived in Paris until I moved to Toronto with my son in 2010. I have a corporate background in communications and have worked in both countries, and love to travel back to Europe when given an opportunity. I grew up loving and spending time in both countries. France, where I grew up. and Canada where I spent my summers as a child. It allowed me to fully embrace my double culture and my bilingual skills as well as set the stage for a permanent move to Canada. I have an international Diploma in Advertising completed while still living in France. And years later, while my son was in school, I taught English and IT to French speaking children. Today teaching French is a way of staying in touch with my mother tongue, and to share a rich and beautiful way of expressing oneself! We have so many more words in the French language! I appreciate so much that Canada is a bilingual country and would like to put my competence towards supporting exactly that. When I moved to Canada a big part of it was wanting my son to be immersed more directly in a bilingual environment which he would not have had the opportunity to do in France. A bientôt !

About the lesson

I believe fluency comes from being immersed in a language as fully as possible. Being comfortable & building up knowledge until fully owning it. My hardest challenge when it came to learning English, was actually speaking (voicing) it. Even though I fully understood English speakers, finding your voice can only be done by stimulating interactions at individual level. My focus is to create a safe and motivating space where you can grow your ability by practicing in a keen, relaxed and judgment-free environment. And this, while helping unlock the complexity of French grammar in an upbeat and motivating environment! Joignez-vous à moi ! A bientôt !
