About Minhyeok
I take tutoring seriously and try to make every lesson organized, reliable, and comfortable for the student.
I prepare before each lesson, arrive on time, and keep track of the student’s progress over time. I also try to communicate clearly about lesson times, goals, and anything the student should work on before the next session.
As a mathematics student at Boston College and a former AP Calculus teaching assistant, I have experience both studying higher-level math and helping other students understand it.
I know that asking questions can sometimes feel uncomfortable, so I try to create a relaxed environment where students can say when something does not make sense. There is no pressure to understand everything immediately.
I also value consistency. I want students and parents to know what to expect from each lesson and to feel that their time is being used well.

I’m Minhyeok, a mathematics student at Boston College with experience as an AP Calculus / Precalculus teaching assistant.
At the beginning, I give each student a short level test to check what they already know, what they are struggling with, and which topics need the most work. I use the results to build a study plan that fits the student instead of using the same lesson for everyone.
My tutoring is based on my own custom curriculum. I create my own worksheets and workbooks so that students can learn each topic in a clear order and get practice that matches their level.
In a typical lesson, I explain the main idea first, work through examples, and then have the student solve problems using my materials. I usually start with easier problems and gradually move to harder ones. If the student gets stuck, I guide them with questions and try explaining the idea in a different way.
I focus on understanding, not just memorizing formulas. I want students to know why a method works and how to use it on new problems.
My lessons are for middle school and high school students studying Algebra, Precalculus, AP Calculus AB/BC, or similar introductory calculus courses.
What sets my tutoring apart is the combination of a level test, a custom study plan, and my own worksheets and workbooks. This makes the lessons more organized and helps students focus on the areas where they need the most improvement.
