About Heather
I am a BC Certified Teacher with IB Language B Cat 2 Training. I have experience teaching high school Spanish and IB Spanish (ab initio and B) in BC. I have also taught English, French, and Spanish overseas and during my BC Teaching Practicum and have taught SAT Prep & ESL at Elite Educational Institute. I have lived in France, Québec, Mexico, and Spain and speak fluent French and Spanish, as well as native English. I have experience tutoring online for Paper Airplanes and teaching online during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have a B.A. in Romance Studies (French, Spanish & Italian) and a B.Ed. in Secondary English & Spanish Teaching, both from UBC.

I tutor French, Spanish, and English (including ESL and SAT Prep) to grade 5-12 students, as well as Spanish/French ab initio and B to IB Diploma students. I cannot tutor Seaquam Secondary students as I teach there.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, I am currently tutoring online. I generally conduct tutoring sessions through Skype and use Google Docs and Google Slides for support. If you prefer a different platform, please let me know.
I adapt my tutoring sessions to my students' needs and can plan around the BC or IB curriculum. I am also familiar with the new 2016 SAT exam and can prepare students for the Reading & Writing section and the Essay.
