About Christian

With a background in journalism and hands-on experience in broadcasting, I bring both academic knowledge and real newsroom experience to my teaching. I was recognized as the **Best Investigative Reporter at the Brigada Digital Broadcast Creators Award 2025** and as a **Top 3 Overall Performer at Brigada Academy**. I was also a **President’s Lister at Bicol University**.

My professional training includes investigative journalism, news gathering and writing, data privacy, journalism and trauma, as well as Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (GEDI) and Safety Training for Journalists. I was also honored to be selected as one of the participants in a journalism workshop in Manila spearheaded by the **International Federation of Journalists (IFJ)** in partnership with the **National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP)**, where I was the only participant from Region 5. I have also participated in the **Investigative Journalism Conference (IJCon)** and the **Saringsing National Writers Workshop**.

As a practicing journalist, I have experience in news writing, investigative reporting, news production, research, and broadcast anchoring. I currently apply these skills in producing news reports and anchoring commentary programs. Through my lessons, I aim to share practical knowledge, build students’ confidence, and help aspiring journalists develop the skills they need to succeed in journalism and broadcasting.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is practical, engaging, and focused on real-world broadcast journalism. I combine clear explanations with hands-on exercises in news writing, reporting, and anchoring.

A typical lesson starts with a short discussion of the topic, followed by examples and guided practice. Students then work on exercises such as writing news stories, creating scripts, delivering news reports, and receiving feedback for improvement.

What sets me apart is my actual experience as a broadcast journalist, news anchor, and reporter. I focus not only on theory but also on the skills students can apply in actual journalism settings.

My lessons are ideal for senior high school students, college students taking journalism or communication-related courses, aspiring news anchors and reporters, and beginners who want to improve their news writing and broadcasting skills.
