• When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

  My interest in tutoring began during my time as an academic scholar and teaching assistant at the University of Toronto, where I conducted individual and group sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in various business topics. Over the course of six months, I discovered a passion for teaching and simplifying complex concepts to enhance student understanding.
  
  Reflecting on my own high school experience with private tutors, I recognized a need for more engaging and effective teaching methods. This motivated me to join organizations like Varsity Tutors and Hack Your Course, where I tutored students from middle school to university across diverse subjects. Tutoring has become a passion for me, as it allows me to give back to the community and share my knowledge in a meaningful way.

• What makes you passionate about your subject?

  My passion for Math, Business, Physics, and Chemistry stems from their constant application in my daily life, both personally and professionally. This drives me to deepen my understanding so I never have to question how or why something works. During my undergraduate studies, I vividly recall how working in student teams and collaborating with peers helped me grasp complex concepts. I am committed to ensuring that no student is left wondering "how" or "why" in these fundamental subjects, as they are essential to our understanding of the world.

• What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  My tutoring approach begins with a complimentary session to understand the student's goals, learning preferences, and challenges, and to establish clear timelines and commitments. I am passionate about witnessing my students' progress and their growing confidence in subjects they initially found difficult. What makes me a Superprof is my dedication to empowering students to the point where they no longer need a tutor, having achieved their academic goals through our sessions.

• Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

  I have had many role models, including my high school Chemistry tutor and my MBA Finance professor. What they all had in common was their ability to challenge me constantly, encouraging me to deepen my understanding of the subjects. Even when I answered correctly, they would question me further to ensure my comprehension was genuine and not just a guess. I adopt this approach with my students to accurately assess their understanding. Their teaching methods instilled in me a lasting hunger for learning and excellence in all my pursuits.

• What are your keys to success?

  My keys to success are focus, discipline, and positivity. Maintaining a clear focus on my goals helps me navigate and overcome obstacles, driving me to achieve the competence I seek in any subject. Discipline is crucial, as time and resources are limited; organizing tasks and dedicating sufficient time to learning are essential for excellence. Finally, positivity makes learning enjoyable and fosters success. Viewing new topics as challenges rather than obstacles prevents negativity and enhances accomplishment.
