About Hongtao

I've been in the education industry for 15+ years with English training for corporate staff and Mandarin Chinese online tutoring 10+ years. My teaching approach is quite flexible, interactive, inspiring and interesting as well as goal-oriented and customized depending on your current Chinese level and the goal you plan to achieve. Meanwhile, I can understand diversified cultures which enables my tutoring easier for global learners. I have a strong business background since I ever owned a company in China, so my knowledge is quite broad, I can talk world economy, financial education, investment, economics, new technology, medicals, marketing etc. I have a teacher's certificate.

About the lesson

In the trial lesson, I'll get your current Chinese level and the goal you plan to achieve, then the sessions will be customized just for you.

1 If you are a beginner, relax! Let's start with pinyin pronunciation and fundamental Chinese like numbers, time, week, month, date, time, schedule, self-introduction, then ordering coffee, tea etc. Step by step, I'll guide you to talk better and better as well as build your confidence in speaking Mandarin Chinese.

2 If you are intermediate level, immersion! Appropriate topics will be assigned to you, then you prepare and present to me followed by questions asked by me based on your presentation which will enable you to speak deeper and deeper with vocabulary building-up as well as better Chinese culture understanding.

3 If you are advanced level, immersion + business! Challenging and business topics will be discussed including finance, investment, economy, technology, AI, law, medicals, sales, marketing, latest news, even politics, or other specific topics you demand! Your Chinese will incredibly reach a much higher level due to my strong business background.

4 For other purposes, such as interview preparation both academic and workplace, business consulting etc, just let me know since I'm specialized in business coaching and I used to own and operate my own company, with team-building and client-acquiring experiences in China.
