About Angelina

I am an enthusiastic and keen teacher - as someone studying education, I have a deep passion for improving learning and understand how to craft engaging lessons. I used to struggle with English literature in school so I understand the intricacies and difficulties of improving in the subject. However, I promise it is possible, and it is not as hard as you may think. I will do my utmost to help you enjoy the lessons, hopefully leading you to that 7 that you might wish for! My love and passion for literature is widespanning. I am a keen poet who has a poetry account where I regularly share some of my original poetry. I am also passionate about postcolonial and feminist literatures, having explored this in my year-long class in Cambridge. My favourite authors are Khaled Hosseini, Toni Morrison and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

About the lesson

Literature is not always easy to grasp, but in my lessons I hope to foster a joy for it that makes the process easier! I'll be teaching poetry and prose analysis in a fun and interactive way, ensuring it is student-led and participatory. I adapt to the student's reading lists, meaning I am happy to familiarise myself with, and discuss any text the student needs help with. I can assist with: - Unseen passage analysis - Literary Analysis of studied texts - Writing feedback - Oral assessment - HL Essay As an IB graduate I am very familiar with the IB English curriculum and requirements. I received a 7 in English and a 43 overall, and was awarded the English subject award in Grade 11 and 12. I have also tutored two English students for the two years of IB, so I have experience in this area.
