About Olly

I am a Cambridge graduate, with a Bachelor's degree (with Honours) and have been tutoring for the past six years. Having helped multiple students exceed their expectations with GCSEs, A-levels, and entrance exams from 7+ through to Oxbridge admissions, I have a strong idea of what is needed to impress examiners at each stage. I enjoy helping students improve their problem solving, and I am a patient teacher so that students can be rewarded by their own learning.

About the lesson

I like being receptive to the student(s) and the pace of learning that they require. In each lesson I will have a loose plan of what I would like to teach but am always happy to divert to what the student would like to talk about if there is not an exam coming up! When tackling problems, I prefer to let the student do as much as possible independently before taking them through a step-by-step analysis of the question and clearly going through the steps of the answer. If working towards 7+, 11+, or 13+, we can follow my clear structure of how to be as prepared as possible for when the exam and/or interview rolls around! I also have significant experience helping students achieve places at Oxbridge, offering Personal Statement help and Interview skills development. Note this does not include tutoring in STEP examinations and similar.
