About Lucy

I have more than 10 years experience using WordPress and teaching others how to use it. I've spoken at WordCamps and Meetups, and I've worked on the technical support team for a premium WordPress plugin for several years. I've built my own sites and worked on countless others. I also write tutorials and documentation. One of my main skills is being able to adapt my style to the technical level of the customer, and explain technical concepts in approachable ways. So no matter where you are in your journey, I'll be able to help you in a way that clicks with you.

About the lesson

I have more than 10 years experience using and teaching WordPress. I provide personalized, online WordPress training and consulting all around the world!

I can help you learn WordPress and get your site up and running. Or, if you already have a WordPress site, I can help you develop it further and provide ongoing support to turn you into a WordPress power user.

We’ll use a video conference service like Zoom or similar. We’ll be able to share screens so that I can guide you through the steps you need to follow, or I can take control of your screen as needed.

Our WordPress training session will be completely customized for your particular needs, and I encourage you to send me a list of your questions/issues before our session so that we can make the best use of your time.

Some common issues I help people with include:

- Getting WordPress installed on your server
- Helping you configure the theme correctly
- Basic theme tweaks – adding a logo, tweaking fonts, colors etc
- Configuring options and settings
- Installing the right plugins for your needs
- Publishing content, working with images, media, formatting
- Basic SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
- Ongoing coaching and consultation as you develop your blog
- Setting up an online store
- Creating a membership site (Paid Memberships Pro, MemberPress, Restrict Content etc)
- Advanced topics such as creating child themes
- Help with configuring your theme you are working with. I’ve worked with countless themes from many providers including.
- Developers looking to get started with WordPress
- Designers wanting to transition to WordPress
- Understanding your Google PageSpeed results and improving performance
- Configuring your caching plugin
