About Jakob
Hey, I’m Jakob! I recently graduated from Appleby College, where I developed a deep interest in history and writing. I know how stressful school can feel, so I try to make learning calm, personal, and even enjoyable. My sessions are open and conversational — we’ll work together to break things down step by step until it clicks. I’m here to help high school students feel more confident and prepared, whether it’s for an essay, a test, or just keeping up in class.

My approach is supportive, structured, and personalized. I guide high school students through social science content (AP World History, AP US History, Canadian History) by focusing on in-depth understanding, not memorization. Each lesson blends discussion, real examples, and feedback to strengthen both confidence and academic performance.
I aim to help students interpret historical sources, develop critical thinking skills, and internalize content while simultaneously creating a relaxed space to ask questions and grow at their own pace.
