About Laura

About Me: Hello, my name is Laura. Je m'appelle Laura. I'm a total foodie and love cooking and tasting new dishes. My favorite subject in school was science, so I often combine kids' English lessons with topics like biology, geology, or astronomy. I enjoy getting to know my students and picking topics they will love!

About the lesson

My Lessons and Teaching Style: My class will give you confidence when speaking, reading, and writing. With adults and higher-level students, I focus on complex grammar and creative thinking within the English language. I challenge my students to practice discussion-based communication and perfect their pronunciation. With kids and lower-level students, I focus on teaching simple sentence structure and useful, but fun, topics. I tailor my lessons to my students' interests, helping to keep everyone excited for class and eager to learn. I live in Canada and have previously lived in the USA. I have both online and offline teaching experience, having been an online teacher for about 6 years now. I specialize in teaching kids, special education for those with learning disabilities, admissions essays for western universities, and helping prepare students for proficiency tests. I teach all levels and have found fun and engaging ways to help my students, particularly kids, focus.
