About Anike

I believe in testing before committing; therefore, booking a trial or practice lesson is important for potential students to see if I would be a good fit as a tutor for them. Learning English doesn't have to feel intimidating - it can be exciting, creative, and even fun! In my classes, you will find a supportive space where mistakes are welcomed and part of the learning journey. I take the time to understand your goals and interests, so every lesson is personal, relevant, and motivating. I welcome English Second Language students of all levels of fluency and all ages. We will use visuals, real-life examples, and practical exercises to help English become something you use, not just study. The times listed on my schedule are the only ones I have available due to other work-related responsibilities, if our times match up, let's learn together!

About the lesson

I have two years of teaching experience both in person and online with my expertise being in business English, conversational English, and helping younger students to prepare for exams or helping with assessments. I am also a native Afrikaans speaker with experience in teaching Afrikaans to travellers as well as younger students. My qualification is a TEFL/TESOL certificate. I have a strong passion for helping students develop confidence and fluency in their preferred language and I am easy to get along with. For each lesson, I ensure I create a safe, relaxed, and no-judgement classroom environment. My teaching methodology is centred around building genuine rapport with my students and creating a positive and engaging learning environment. I believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable and supported, so I focus on tailoring my lessons to each learner's needs, goals, and personality.
