About Kirat
Hey everyone! My name is Kirat, a dedicated Swim Instructor and Lifeguard. I am passionate about swimming, and I bring enthusiasm and knowledge to every lesson. I strive to empower every student, from beginners to aspiring lifeguards, to conquer the water with confidence. I have years of instructing, lifeguarding and leadership experience, networking with other talented instructors, and an intimate understanding of swimming techniques. I have taught more than 1000 students through private and group lessons, but I still always craft a personalized lesson that is completely tailored to the student’s needs. Whether you're aiming to overcome a fear of water, refine your strokes, or just be able to swim to survive, I’ve got you covered. Some fun facts about me: • I love to travel. I have been to 49 countries ️ • I am a Math and Physics student at UToronto • I also love Photography and Videography • I currently work with 6 organizations as a Lifeguard, Swim Instructor and Aquatic Leadership Instructor! About the lesson

Our class would start even before you get in the water. I always reach out to my students before their first class to gauge their goals and prior experience. Then when we get into the water, I teach using a progression-based approach, which is where we learn the basics and then build upon them one step at a time. For example, if you are a complete beginner, we would start with submersion and mobility in the water, then learn how to float, and then glide. Or maybe you have some swimming experience, and we would begin with a quick swim assessment to identify exact areas of improvement. Whatever the case is, I will ALWAYS align the lesson with your goals. Some Lifesaving Society Certifications that I hold: • Swim and Lifesaving Instructor/Examiner • Workplace First Aid and CPR-C/AED • First Aid Instructor/Examiner • National Lifeguard Pool • National Lifeguard Instructor/Examiner • Swim and Lifesaving Instructor Trainer [certified to teach the teachers]
