About Crystal
I am a certified OCT teacher with over 10 years of experience working with students from Grades 7 to 12 as a teacher, educational assistant, and long-term occasional teacher. I bring a strong understanding of curriculum expectations, effective teaching strategies, and assessment practices to every session.
I am committed to creating a supportive, professional, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. I take a patient, student-centered approach and tailor my instruction to meet individual needs, including supporting diverse learners and students with IEPs.
My goal is to help students not only improve their skills, but also develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude toward learning. I take pride in building strong relationships and helping students feel successful and supported every step of the way.

My lessons are student-centered, structured, and flexible to meet individual learning needs. I focus on building understanding and confidence by breaking concepts into clear, manageable steps, then guiding students through practice with support and feedback. I use a variety of teaching strategies, including real-world examples, visuals, and hands-on approaches, to keep learning engaging and meaningful.
A typical session begins with a quick review, followed by targeted instruction and guided practice, then independent work with support as needed. I also include time for questions and skill building to reinforce key concepts.
What sets me apart is my experience working with diverse learners, including students with IEPs, and my ability to adapt my teaching style to each student. I focus on creating a positive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their abilities.
