About Richard

Hello,

My name is Richard Moore, but most of the people that know me, call me Coach. In March of 1998 I married Rachel. We have three boys, Riley, Reese, and Rhett. I was never much for school, or at least academics. I was only Interested in athletics. But in 1998, after graduating high school way back in 1983, I earned my Master’s in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary. Just a couple of days after graduation Rachel (7 months pregnant with Rhett) Riley, Reese and I moved from our home in Denton, Texas to Naches, Washington. There we worked on a residential boys ranch for troubled teenage boys. After four years, the grandparents got their wish and we returned to Texas. I got a job as the Chaplain, Football, and Baseball Coach at a small private Christian school in Denton. I was also the Youth Pastor/Christian Ed. Director at Denton Community Church. It was during these years I realized my gift to inspire, lead, listen, and encourage. I became, Coach!

In 2011 we left Texas again. This time our destination was Lake City, Colorado. I was hired to be the Program Director at a Christian family camp. But the camp closed soon after we arrived and I found myself coaching again. This time it was at the school in Lake City where one of our boys is still a student. During my time coaching at Lake City Community School we won five State Championships in Track and Field; the first State Championships in the school’s 140 year history.

I’ve spent the last two years and a few months studying and working hard to become a Certified Professional Recovery/Life Coach and Master Mental Health Coach. I also completed the hours needed to receive my Masters Diploma in Christian Counseling as well as becoming a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist with an emphasis in addiction and the individual and family.
It is my desire to come alongside people that are struggling with mental health issues to help them:
Navigate day to day life.
Re-engage with relationships and responsibility.
Own their past and look to a positive future.
Find their true identity, and understand their personal value.
I would be honored to serve as your Coach!

About the lesson

But sometimes life can deal difficult cards and we need help remembering who we are and what we are capable of accomplishing. Sometimes we need someone that believes in us and is willing to walk through the difficult time alongside us, listening and encouraging. That’s me...your Coach. I believe in Growth Focused coaching and I’m trained in several evidence based practices to help you get from where you are, to where you want to be!
