My teaching method depends on the group size, individual or group, as well as the skill the student wishes to focus on. I often incorporate graphic organizers into lessons on written expression as well as reading comprehension or written analysis. In oral practice, its important to have conversations in the target language with little to no translation back to native language. I use the Neurolinguistic Approach (NLA) to teach Spanish as well a strong emphasis on cultural and emotional aspects.
I am a certified Spanish bilingual teacher, working in the public system for over 5 years. I have taught grade 3, 5, 6 and 7 as well as kindergarten in China and Mexico. I have a bachelor's degree in Political science with a minor in Latin American studies and Spanish as well as an Education bachelor's degree. I have my permanent teaching certificate in Alberta.
