About Dawn
Hi, I'm Dawn, a BC-certified teacher with a lifelong passion for education and the arts. My journey in education began when I was 12 years old, teaching dance classes to younger students. As an adult, I expanded my experience to include musical theater and voice instruction before moving into the classroom as a certified teacher.
These experiences taught me that every learner is unique and that confidence is often the key to success. Throughout my career, I have enjoyed helping students discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and develop a love of learning.
Today, I bring my classroom experience and passion for teaching to one-on-one tutoring. I particularly enjoy helping elementary students strengthen their reading, writing, and communication skills while building the confidence they need to succeed both academically and personally.
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a student realize they are capable of more than they thought possible.

My teaching approach is patient, encouraging, and student-centered. I strive to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and celebrating their progress. By identifying each student's strengths and areas for growth, I create personalized lessons that support academic success both in and out of the classroom.
My classroom experience has given me extensive practice differentiating instruction, supporting diverse learners, and helping students build confidence in their reading and writing abilities.
Whether your child needs support with reading, writing, vocabulary development, or overall confidence in English Language Arts, I am committed to helping them reach their full potential. Through engaging, individualized lessons, I help students build the skills, confidence, and enthusiasm they need for lasting success in school and beyond.
