About Maggie
I am a certified teacher who values building positive, trusting relationships with the students I work with. I am adaptable, open-minded, and flexible, and I enjoy working collaboratively to find approaches that work best for each individual learner.
My goal is to create a comfortable and encouraging environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and explore different ways of learning. I want students to leave each session not only with a stronger understanding of the subject, but also with greater confidence in their own abilities.
I am committed to helping students develop strategies and tools that they can carry with them beyond our tutoring sessions and use to become more confident and independent learners.

My tutoring approach is supportive, personalized, and focused on building both skills and confidence. As a certified teacher, I adapt lessons to each student’s needs and learning style, using clear explanations, guided practice, and engaging activities.
My lessons typically use an explicit instruction approach, beginning with me modelling a problem, followed by working collaboratively with the student on a similar problem, and finally allowing them to try one independently. This gradual release approach helps reinforce learning, build confidence, and encourage students to become more independent learners.
I offer tutoring for elementary and middle school students in all subjects, with specialized experience in mathematics and English. Sessions can support homework, assignments, test preparation, or specific areas of difficulty.
