About David
Hi, my name is David, and I’m 21 years old. I am currently a second-year Chemical Engineering student at the University of Birmingham. I have previously tutored privately for around 2 years, teaching maths and chemistry at both GCSE and A-Level. I am particularly familiar with the Edexcel Maths and AQA Chemistry curricula, as I took these myself and achieved A’s in both.

My teaching style is adaptable and can be tailored to meet each student’s individual needs. I understand that every learner is unique, so I aim to create a personalised approach that suits them. To begin our sessions, I’ll typically work through exam-style questions with students, which helps familiarise them with the types of problems they may encounter in exams. When we come across challenging topics, I’ll transition into a more traditional lesson format to ensure that we thoroughly address any difficulties. In all my lessons, I aim to create a collaborative learning environment where asking questions is not only encouraged but celebrated. I believe that fostering open communication helps build confidence and makes complex subjects feel more approachable. My goal is to empower students to take charge of their learning and develop a genuine interest in science and mathematics. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and support your academic journey!
