About Elena
I am passionate about STEM and helping others to reach their potential. Having completed my GCSEs and A Levels recently, I understand just how demanding they can be. Hence I would love to provide support while creating a patient, friendly and empowering environment.
I find it inspiring to watch as students are able to tackle challenging questions or concepts that they have struggled with. I understand that sciences can be tricky, but genuinely believe that as they are broken down through one-to-one tutoring, they become far less intimidating, helping your confidence and allowing you to excel.

I believe in an interactive learning approach, where new or trickier topics are actively consolidated during and after the lesson by active recall. For public exams, an emphasis on exam technique is extremely important so that students can gain marks that they are capable of, instead of leaving marks on the table. As someone with dyslexia, I am very aware of different learning styles and the importance of adapting this for different students. My lessons would be for 1 hour to allow enough time for confidence and understanding, and typically around 20 minutes of independent work after a lesson to consolidate at the start of the next. As a Chemistry prefect during Sixth Form, I organised and tutored younger students in a mentoring programme, and volunteered as a mentor for Biology and Maths. My focus is on GCSE and A Level students.
