I am a first year university student who is very passionate in cultivating the East Asian culture, pedagogy, history, and drama. Though I am majoring in materials science and engineering this year, I found myself the humanities more appealing to me. Therefore, I will be transferring to East Asian studies next year. Hopefully I can double major in both drama and East Asian studies. My Chinese lessons are meant for anyone who has passion for Chinese culture and language, both beginners and intermediate speakers are welcome. The lessons will cover aspects like speaking, listening, reading, and writing, as well as enhancing understanding for Chinese cultures and history. I can provide the corresponding course materials after I assess the performance of the students. Students are also free to bring their own materials for the lessons.
Please cancel your lessons at least 24 hours ahead of time for both the webcam and in person lessons. Also the price of the in person lessons is the same for both the beginners and intermediate speakers, which is $35.00/hr. The travelling cost is $15.00 for travelling from where I live to the students' house, within 20 km. The rate for the webcam lessons is $30.00/hr. There is a scaled rate for packaged hours (in person lessons only), with 5 hours for $225, and 10 hours for $425. The rate for webcam lessons is the same as well for both beginners and intermediate speakers, but there are no discounts for accumulative hours for the webcam lessons. I accept cash and the cheques mailed to my address. The free hour lesson (first hour) is only for the flexible in-person lessons that don't schedule on a regular basis, and can't be used along with both the 5 hours and 10 hours scaled packages.
I have been teaching my high school French teacher Chinese for nearly 5 months, and now he is enjoying his retirement in Taipei, Taiwan (R.O.C.) by himself. I conducted one-to-one lessons with him during the lunch breaks, which I assisted him with aforementioned categories, such as pronunciation, grammar, listening, cultural background, and writing.
