About Sarah

I'm Sarah from Switzerland and I have been playing the piano for the past 18 years.
Since I was a child my parents have always considered it important to let me discover the amazing world of art and so, after a first approach to music by being part of a children's choir, fascinated by the idea of playing a music instrument, at the age of 5 I started taking piano lessons.

Under the guidance of my first teacher I embarked on this musical journey that enriched me greatly and led me to my first piano competitions and masterclasses.

At the age of 14, having acquired a greater awareness of my desire to deepen the study of the instrument, I decided to move to a wider and more stimulating reality, which was the major Conservatory in the south of Switzerland. There I was admitted into a preparatory course of 4 years to finally be accepted to the Bachelor's Program.

After my first year of undergrads I decided to move to London and with great pleasure I was admitted with direct entry in second year at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama where I recently obtained a Bachelor's degree with Honours and where I am currently studying in my first year of Master in Piano Accompaniment.

According to my personal experience, all the teachers I have had over the years had a great importance for my musical development and I'm grateful to all of them for all the passion and knowledge they offered to me.

I'm deeply convinced that the right teacher can really make a difference in how we develop our musical skills on the instrument and our personalities, not only in music but also in our lives.

Therefore I have always admired the profession of teaching and as soon as I could I started to immerse myself in this field, aiming to transmit all my passion to all my students.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is based on the establishment of a good relation with the students, adapting my way of teaching to age, level, experience and different personality of each of them. My goal is to understand what the student's needs are and to meet them by adopting a teaching method specific to each one.

I'm really patient and I'm always ready to motivate and encourage students in order to make them being aware of all their qualities with which they'll be able to express their own inner world and ideas through sounds.

During the lessons we'll focus on several aspect of both the music itself and the performance of it. We'll give space to a deep reading of the score to better understand musical features of the piece such as harmony, melody, rhythm and form which will be combined with technical exercises in order to develop strength and flexibility necessary for the playing of the instrument.

I also give much attention to the physical wellbeing of my students helping them to develop good habits in terms of posture and relaxation.
