About Guido
I was super nervous for my first guitar lesson so if you're having any doubts please know that this is very common.
My students always compliment me on my patience and how relaxed they feel during my lessons. Even though it might seem terribly intimidating at first I assure you you can learn to play the guitar!
I am just your average down to earth guy who happens to have a passion for everything music related. As a young boy I was fascinated with the sounds and melodies coming out of the radio and wanted to understand how they are created. One instrument in particular fascinated me...the guitar! It sounded so rich, emotional and colorful and never quite the same, sometimes not like a guitar at all...I had to learn how to play this intriguing instrument!
So I finally mustered up all my courage and signed up for that first lesson and my musical journey began.
I studied classical guitar and electric guitar at the College for the Arts in Windhoek, Namibia, as well as the Jazz Workshop in Cape Town and with various esteemed private tutors. I went on to do music professionally, playing in bands locally as well as overseas, writing songs and recording albums and around 2008 started teaching the guitar.
I have taught privately as well as through music schools for the past 13 years.
My students know me for being patient, flexible with my schedule and for being very accommodating with today's busy lifestyles.

My aim is for students to have fun from day one and my unique teaching style will allow them to start playing songs almost immediately!
I treat each student as a unique individual and rather than force a set curriculum on him or her, I asses their music interests, natural talent and capabilities and structure my lessons accordingly in order to teach them the songs/music they really want to learn.
I am fluent in English, German and Afrikaans but teach in English for the sake of learning the internationally accepted music terminology. Students can learn everything from the absolute basics of playing, tuning and understanding the guitar to advanced styles and music theory.
My lessons are aimed at students of absolutely all ages!
