About Aghiad

I am extremely passionate the topics that I teach, and my goal is always to try to translate some of that passion to the student. I always want to show them that good learning and critical thinking strategies are not only rewarding because they lead to better grades, but also because they allow you to understand the world around you better. An ability to pick out big ideas and themes, make connections, and not get bogged down in the details is a critical skill that helps in so many areas. These are the skills I hope to help students develop so that they can get the most out of their education and enjoy learning for life.

About the lesson

My teaching method is based on the idea that students perform best when they are able to make connections between what they learn and broader topics that are important/relevant in their own lives. I have found that students that are made aware of why what they are learning is relevant and how it connects with other themes/topics they have learned in the past tend to enjoy the learning process more. For these reasons, I like to begin my lessons with a very broad introduction of why the content we will be covering is important and relevant, as well as how it connects to previously learned themes. I also like to include big picture outlooks, provide real world examples, and personalize the lesson depending on the unique interests of the student. My lessons are primarily directed toward high school and college level students.
