About Safi
College level concert pianist completing an Undergraduate Piano Performance degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (graduating October 18th, 2024). 18 years of experience playing piano with two years teaching experience. USOMC competition winner and talent scholarship recipient at the University of Illinois. Additional background in choir (performed in SF Opera) and solo vocals. 5 (highest score) on the AP music theory test with an additional four years education in music theory, piano pedagogy, piano technology, and ensemble playing at the University of Illinois.

A typical lesson will include scales, exercises, written music theory, and repertoire that we pick together.
As a classically trained pianist whose career primarily entails performing the most difficult piano music written, technique is extremely important to me!
While theory and score reading are integral parts of my curriculum, I am especially focused on helping students build the speed, strength, finger independence, and muscle memory that will allow them tackle virtuosic repertoire and freely express their musicality.
I look forward to helping you develop a foundation of musicianship and technique that is equally applicable to classical, jazz, and pop music!
Qualified to teach students 8 and up of all levels from beginner to advanced.
