About Will
I graduated Colorado College Majoring in Computer Science. Although it was not my major, I studied numerous advanced topics in mathematics up to multi-variable calculus and number theory. I have been working full-time as a math tutor based in LA for the last 4 years and have numerous local clients that I can provide you as references. I try my best to accommodate your schedule, I work weekdays, weekends, mornings, and nights, whatever works best for you.

I'm all about teaching to the student. Some students are less enthusiastic about math and work better when pushed to do the work themselves, while others may learn more from a more lecture-based session, It always depends. I believe it is vital to have a fluid teaching method. Typically I work as a general math tutor that assists with homework or as a test prep tutor that teaches towards standardized tests (SAT, ACT, GRE, etc.). As a general math tutor I like to go over last week's topics as a refresher before moving on to the new material. Learning math is all about repetition. Conversely, as a test prep tutor I will bring my own problems that emulate actual test problems, making sure to cover specific topics one at a time. Simply going over practice tests from day one is a trap because the topics covered on these tests are so varied. Math can be exhausting for a lot of students, I like to break up the monotony once per lesson by showing students my favorite mind bending math facts (like showing the amazing proof that the sum of all positive integers 1+2+3+4... is equal to -1/12, I know, but trust me it's true).
Recommendations

Will is smart, organized, and reliable. Even better, he really loves math, and he has a sense of humor that makes students enjoy being around him. He doesn’t get stressed; he’s level-headed, easy going and he approaches the work calmly - something he passes on to the kids he works with (and their parents really appreciate this). Almost all have seen improvement on tests, standardized tests, and with their grades in general. He’s worked with middle- and high-school students and gets along well with all of them.
