About Trusha

My name is Trusha Gajjar, holding a PhD in Commerce and Management/ Accounting with over 10 years of tutoring experience. I am passionate about teaching because I enjoy helping students understand complex concepts and succeed academically. My goal is to inspire and support bachelor, master, and PhD students through engaging and effective lessons.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is student-centered, focusing on individual learning styles and needs. I employ interactive techniques, such as discussions, problem-solving, and real-world applications, to ensure comprehension and engagement.
A typical lesson lasts 60-90 minutes, balancing theory and practice. With over 10 years of tutoring experience, I hold a PhD in Commerce and Management and have taught diverse subjects including business, accounting, management and economics.
My lessons cater to bachelor, master, and PhD students, aiming to enhance their academic performance and critical thinking skills through personalised and effective teaching methodologies.

When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?
I developed an interest in accoun9ng, management, and business studies during my studies, and I quickly realized I loved helping others understand these concepts. Private tutoring seemed like the perfect way to share that passion and help students achieve their goals.
Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).
I teach accounting, management, and business studies. I love discussing topics like financial analysis and strategic management because they show how theory directly applies in the real world. While I find areas like tax regula9ons a bit dry, I know they’re crucial, so I make sure students get a solid understanding.
Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?
My father, who is also a professor, has been my biggest role model. Growing up, I saw how dedicated he was to his students, and that inspired me to follow a similar path. His passion for teaching left a lasting impact on me.
What do you think are the quali9es required to be a good tutor?
Patience and empathy are key. Every student learns differently, so being adaptable and understanding their needs is important. Also, making sure the subject matter is engaging and relatable goes a long way in helping students succeed.
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.
I remember during my PhD; a colleague was struggling with sta9s9cal analysis for our research project. I took the time to explain things step by step, and by the end, they not only understood the concepts but also contributed significantly to the project. It was a reminder of how impactful personalized support can be.
What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or s9ll facing in your subject?
The biggest challenge is keeping up with constantly changing regulations, especially in accounting. It can be tough for students to adapt to new rules, but it's crucial to stay current so they can apply the knowledge accurately
Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?
Teaching is my passion, especially in areas like business and data analy9cs. I love showing students how these subjects can shape their careers and decision-making in the real world.
What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions :-P)?
I’m passionate about helping students succeed, and I make sure to create lessons that are tailored to everyone’s needs. I believe in making learning interactive and enjoyable, and I’m always there to support students in reaching their goals.
