About Ishini

Ever since I was a little girl, music has been a big part of my life. My love for music started at home my grandfather had a beautiful voice and was the very first person to teach me how to sing. Then, when I was just 3 years old, my mom took me to my first piano lesson, and that’s when my musical journey truly began. I’ve studied both piano and music theory, and completed the ABRSM exams up to Grade 6. Even while balancing schoolwork, I never gave up on music because it brought me so much joy. I’m also proud to say that I was the Senior Western Band Leader of my school, and I had the incredible opportunity to perform with the National Youth Orchestra of Sri Lanka, experiences that helped shape me both as a musician and a person. Watching my own music teacher when I was young made me dream of becoming a music teacher myself. After finishing my studies in Sri Lanka, I began tutoring children aged 4 to 16, and it quickly became one of my greatest joys. Many parents told me their kids looked forward to my classes more than any other, and that truly warms my heart. I believe every child is unique. That’s why I always take time to understand each student’s personality, learning style, and interests. Once I’ve connected with them, I tailor lessons to be fun, clear, and engaging, so they never feel bored, confused, or stressed. To me, music isn’t just a subject. It’s a passion, a hobby, and a way of life. I enjoy every single moment of it—and I’d love to help you enjoy it too!

About the lesson

As a dedicated music educator with a Higher Diploma in Western Music Teacher Training and practical experience in piano performance up to ABRSM Grade 6, I believe that music is a joyful journey that every child can enjoy and grow through.

My approach combines structured learning with creativity and encouragement. I aim to build strong foundational skills in theory and performance while also fostering a love for music that lasts a lifetime. Whether teaching piano, flute, or piccolo, I tailor my lessons to suit each child's unique pace and interests, making learning both effective and fun.

Having performed with couple of orchestras, I bring both practical experience and a deep appreciation for musical excellence. My goal is to inspire students not only to play music but to understand and feel it.

Most importantly, I strive to create a supportive and patient environment where children feel confident, motivated, and proud of their progress—no matter where they start.
