About Kaveh
My name is Kaveh Mirhosseini. I am a doctoral student in composition at the University of Toronto, with over 18 years of experience teaching both children and university-level students. I am passionate about creating an engaging and supportive learning environment where students feel inspired to explore their creativity. I believe music is a universal language, and I focus on teaching from the heart—helping each student connect deeply with their musical voice. My goal is to build confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of music in every student, while tailoring each lesson to their individual needs and interests.

I have over 18 years of teaching experience working with students of all ages, from young beginners to university-level musicians. Throughout my career, I have taught composition, songwriting, music theory, and ear training in both one-on-one and group settings. I have worked with students from diverse musical backgrounds, helping beginners build strong foundations while guiding more advanced students in developing their own artistic voice and preparing portfolios for higher education.
My teaching approach is student-centred and adaptable—I design each lesson based on the student’s goals, level, and interests. I focus on creating a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable experimenting, asking questions, and expressing themselves creatively. I also integrate listening, analysis, and practical exercises to make learning both effective and inspiring. Ultimately, my goal is to help each student gain confidence, creativity, and a deeper connection to music.
