About Dhriti
I am a computer science graduate. I have taught at Coding with Kids and have been a math teacher. My approach to teaching is to incorporate the students' interests in the lesson through diagrams and word problems. For example, when introducing variables and values to students in Coding with Kids I created an analogy where the Pokémon was the value and the box was the variable to keep kids' interest. I'm looking forward to working with students and helping them learn and grow.

When teaching, I try to simplify the concepts as much as possible and then build up from there. For example, when explaining fractions, I would split a circle in half and then shade it to demonstrate one half, and I would visually show 2/4. After the visual representation I would then get into the numerator and denominator math explaining how 1/2 equals 2/4. My lesson plan would include an example I work through, another example I ask the student to walk through with hints along the way, and then eventually the goal is to explain any misconceptions I observe when the student is doing the examples and then correct them so that the student can do the examples on their own. The lessons are for elementary and middle school students.
