About Cara
Cara Wang studies cello with Richard Aaron and Amos Yang and first began lessons at age 4 with Alan Yang. As a young artist winner in various competitions, Cara has performed as a soloist with Central Oregon Symphony, Castro Valley Orchestra, Symphony Parnassus, Livermore-Amador Symphony, and Prometheus Symphony Orchestra.
She has also won other competitions, including First at the KAMSA Competition, Second at the Pacific Musical Society and Foundation Competition, Grand Prize at the Prodigy International Music Competition, Outstanding Gold Medalist at U.S. Open Music Competitions, First at American Protégé International Concerto Competition, and First at CalASTA Competition.
Cara loves collaborating with others and is a member of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra and Young Chamber Musicians. Cara finds great satisfaction and fulfillment in nurturing young musicians and has taught cello and chamber music privately for 3 years.

-My typical teaching methods and techniques are greatly influenced by my teachers, Richard Aaron, Amos Yang, and Alan Yang. I emphasize playing with reduced amounts of tension and creating a beautiful tone and sound. I also emphasize different practice techniques and focus on teaching my students how to practice most effectively.
-What sets me apart is my ability to connect, empathize with, communicate with, and understand a wide variety of students and their unique needs and goals.
-A typical lesson begins with open strings and scales. Then, we will review repertoire and discuss the techniques and theory necessary to undertake certain pieces.
-These lessons are for beginner to intermediate students.
