Hi! I’m Charlee, and I’ve been playing the cello for 9 years. I’m passionate about sharing the joy of music with younger students and beginners who are just starting their journey on this beautiful instrument. My Teaching Approach: I believe learning the cello should be fun, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s pace. My lessons combine proper technique with creativity, so students not only develop strong fundamentals but also enjoy making music right away. I use simple, engaging methods to help students understand posture, bowing, rhythm, and tone production, while gradually introducing music reading and performance skills. What a Typical Lesson Looks Like: Warm-ups and exercises to build comfort and technique Step-by-step practice with short pieces or exercises Learning fun songs suited to the student’s level Exploration of music theory basics to support playing A quick review and practice plan for the week What Sets Me Apart: Because I started as a beginner not too long ago myself, I understand the challenges new players face. I create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and growing at their own pace. My lessons are flexible and adapted to each student’s goals—whether they want to learn for fun, school orchestra, or to build a strong foundation for future study. Who My Lessons Are For: Beginners of any age, especially younger kids (elementary–middle school) Students who want to build confidence before joining an orchestra or ensemble Anyone who wants to explore music in a fun, encouraging setting If you or your child are ready to begin a musical journey with the cello, I’d love to help make learning exciting, approachable, and rewarding.
