About Shuang

I am very lucky to have had amazing violin teachers through my musical journey that are able to guide and hone my musical skills through the years. I hope to be that for my students in guiding them in their musical growth. Nothing makes me happier than sharing my love for music and seeing my students enjoy making music and developing musically. I am a concert violinist and perform very frequently in solos with orchestra, in recitals, in chamber groups and orchestras. - Just performed with Macpherson Symphony Orchestra, Bridgnorth Sinfonia and played Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the KCLSymphony Orchestra - Recently won a concerto competition (I am able to share my experience on preparing for a competition and performances) - More than 9 orchestral projects in 2022 - Received two 'Highest Instrumental Award' - Have attended the Aspen Music Festival, Summit Music Festival, Bowdoin Music Festival. - Did the Trinity LTCL Recital Diploma (Violin) in 2016 I have been teaching the violin through the years, and frequently assist my friends and juniors in their preparation for concerts and exams. I also teach weekly at a music academy.

About the lesson

Methodology My lessons are tailored to the needs and desires of my students, whether it is playing for enjoyment or challenging yourself to reach higher levels of playing. I make my lessons fun and engaging particularly for the younger students, while maintaining strict discipline. Since I am classically trained myself and have more than 16 years of performing and audition experience, I understand the common struggles that students face and can effectively correct them to improve their skills, as well as share my own experiences. In my lessons I also emphasise greatly on effective practice methods as I believe that this is instrumental for improvement. Who are my lessons for? I offer lessons to all ages (children to adults) and levels (beginners to advanced) If you are preparing for an exam or performance with an existing teacher and need extra support and guidance, I also offer sit in practice sessions in which I guide you in effective practising, and play through sessions where I give feedback and tips to improve your violin playing. My fees 30 mins: £30 1 hour: £40 My lesson lengths depend on the needs of my students as well, so feel free to let me know! Where do I teach? I am based in central London, and I offer online lessons as well.
