About Bruce
After receiving my Master's degree in media, I have worked in TV production as an editor, director and TD for over 30 years, serving a wide variety of clients and agencies. From commercials to documentaries, live events and studio productions, I've worked in every aspect of TV production. I love the technical and creative challenges of each project and collaborating with people in the creative process. Currently, I edit projects from my home studio, teach digital studio production at a local community college and I've started an aerial video and photography company utilizing drones (I have my FAA Pt. 107 cert) to get a very unique perspective on everything.

I have taught video editing at a technical school and currently teach studio production at a community college. Once I give my students the basics, we start to build on our creativity and I encourage them to think outside the box. Where else can we take this? Can I do that differently? What can I add or subtract from a piece to make it better? I always tell my students that editing is the art of knowing what to take out. I let students screen their projects with each other and get into discussions about what works well and what can be improved. We'll talk about timing, pacing, continuity and storytelling. Finally, does the finished product meet the goal that the student was trying to achieve.
