About Maxime
Since moving to London in 2014 I have been consistently teaching students of all ages (6- 44 years old) and of all levels (grades 1-7). Recently one of my students was accepted at the « CNR de Versailles », a highly regarded and competitive conservatoire and the equivalent of the RCM’s Junior Department in France. As a performer of chamber music I have been invited to play in a wide variety of chamber music festivals such as Musethica, the ‘Estivales of Puisaye’ and Encuentro de Santander. I perform regularly in piano quartets, piano trios, string quartets as well as in more unconventional ensemble settings (trio with saxophone, septet with harp etc..). I was also a member of the Quatuor Padam from 2012-2015 with whom I performed at the Palais Farnèse, the French Ambassady in Italy and on the soundtrack of ‘Les Figures de Silence’, a short film by Anne-Camille Charliat and Prize-winner at the 2015 Festival de Cannes. In 2018 I co-founded “How do you practise”. I believe this project brings an extra layer to my understanding of shared music making and influences greatly the way I teach chamber music. The aim of this programme is to compile a broad spectrum of practice methods developed by individual instrumentalists and share them for the benefit of all. In 2019, We ran this programme of practical research on practice at the RCM, with 12 different students during three different workshops. These workshops were greatly acclaimed by both students and RCM staff. Please find below a relevant quote: “Maxime ran a pilot of this scheme in Autumn 2019, assisted by P&P. He was extremely professional in organising this and both the results and the process have been intriguing. […] A useful learning aid to musicians and fascinating insight to non-musicians.” Ed Denham Over the past month I have been pursuing this project in a podcast format with renowned musicians, violinist Nicolas Dupont and double bass player Lorraine Campet, and soon with Benjamin Baker, Sylvia Huang (Violins).

Maxime is a great violin teacher. Extremely professional and very experienced, he adapts very quickly to the needs of students. He helped me prepare my audition to the royal college of music London and was full of ideas and tips on how to practice and how to perform. I highly recommend him!
