About Viara
Hi, I’m Viara. I am a year 12 A-level student currently studying A-level biology, Art and photography. I have always been passionate about biology and my lessons are designed to make Biology understandable, enjoyable, and most importantly prepare you as well as I can for the exams. Typical length of lesson- 40 minutes to 2 hours. This is flexible to my timetable and your needs. A-Level Biology (OCR A) student with strong subject mastery and recent experience with the latest curriculum. Achieved an A in combined higher science AQA biology in 2024. I will go through key exam techniques to get an A or A*. My teaching style is student-centred, engaging, and tailored to individual needs. I focus on building both a solid understanding of key biological concepts and the exam skills required for success in GCSEs. Here's how I teach: Active Learning: I encourage students to think critically, ask questions, and explain concepts back to me to reinforce learning. Visual Aids & Diagrams: I use annotated diagrams, flowcharts, and mind maps to help simplify complex processes like the carbon cycle, mitosis, and homeostasis. Exam-Focused Practice: I integrate past paper questions, mark schemes, and examiner feedback regularly to help students become confident in answering 6-mark questions and applying knowledge under exam conditions. Spaced Repetition & Recall: I guide students in using flashcards and active recall strategies (e.g., Quizlet, blurting) to improve memory retention over time. Adaptable Pace: Lessons are adjusted depending on the student's confidence and progress—whether revisiting basics or pushing for top grades. GCSE Biology students (AQA) – Year 9 to Year 11. KS3 Science students needing early support or a head start before GCSEs. Suitable for all levels: whether a student is struggling with foundational knowledge or aiming for top-tier exam technique and Grade 9 performance.
