I believe in interactive tutoring which I have seen a great deal of success in when teaching family members. This is where you teach concepts by giving students questions before you have explained the concept and tell them to give it a go, you then teach how to do it as you go through the other questions this means they have a development of the skill over a larger block number of questions explained throughout
