About the lesson
Each lesson is completely personalized to your liking and your learning style. As someone who benefits from being taught in all learning styles, I am no stranger to teaching them to others.
English can often be an overwhelming subject, especially when there are so many things in front of you that you don’t know where to start. Having a plan of action and list of things to do often helps me, so I would love to do something similar with you.
Each of our lessons can start by discussing what you hope to accomplish, as well if you need anything different from me. With things like editing, I will always make sure to explain my actions as opposed to just scratching things away, for otherwise it’s unlikely that you will be able to make progress. The same goes for difficulty with writing, grammar, structure and resume building. For each of these things I want to help you build a solid foundation for the future by developing tips and tricks to look back on which will always ensure your success.
If you think we would be a good match don’t hesitate to approach me. I would love to get to know you and assist in any way i possibly can.
- Resume / Cover letter writing prep
English has always been my favourite subject. Though in saying that, it’s not to say that the subject didn’t come with hurdles of its own for me.
As my students, I want you to know that i’ve been in your position. I’ve asked others for editing help, I’ve had people critique my resume and i’ve struggled with essay formatting. Reaching out to others and developing strategies, tips and tricks is what allowed me to later on excel in this subject, and my overall hope is that the same will happen for you.
I am currently a sociology and legal studies major in school. In this area, essays are one of our main points of grading, so you can be sure that i’ve written my fair share.
Additionally, much of my work experience has been in positions of teaching. Two of my favourites are “camp counsellor” and “lifeguard”. In these positions much of my time was spent interacting with those aged 4-17 developing unique skills.
I understand how nerve racking it can be approaching a tutor, as I myself have done so before, which is why, i want it to be known, that in our lessons it truly is a judgment-free-zone, as corny as it sounds. I truly love teaching and working with others to achieve great results and improve ones overall confidence (and grades;).
