About Abdul

I'm Abdul Hadi, a Computer Science student at LUMS with a 1530 SAT superscore (750 Reading & Writing, 780 Math, both 98th percentile). I first got into tutoring almost by accident: after a strong SAT result, friends and their younger siblings started asking me for help, and I realized I genuinely enjoyed breaking down difficult problems until they clicked for someone else. That turned into founding and solo-teaching my own SAT prep academy, where I built the full curriculum from scratch and taught multiple cohorts of 25–30 students over several months.

I eventually stepped away from the academy to focus fully on settling into university, since running it solo alongside a demanding degree wasn't sustainable long-term. Now that I've found my rhythm at LUMS, I'm ready to get back into teaching, this time bringing everything I learned from running a business end to end alongside the instruction itself.

What keeps me teaching is watching a student go from dreading a section to feeling in control of it. I take that seriously, since I know firsthand how much a good score can change what doors open next, it funded my own first semester of university. I bring the same discipline I used to hit a near-perfect score to how I teach it: patient, structured, and focused on making sure every student actually understands the material, not just memorizes it.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring centers on building genuine understanding, not just pattern-matching to question types. I explain the reasoning behind every answer so students can transfer that logic to questions they've never seen before, then pace each lesson according to how quickly the individual student is absorbing the material rather than rushing through a fixed script.

My teaching approach includes:

- Diagnosing each student's specific weak areas across Reading & Writing and Math before building a personalized study plan
- Pacing lessons around the student's comfort level, slowing down on concepts that need reinforcement and moving faster through material they've already mastered
- Teaching the reasoning behind each answer, not just the correct choice, so the method generalizes to new questions
- Layering in strategic, exam-specific techniques (time allocation, elimination methods, when to skip and return) to optimize overall score, not just section-by-section accuracy
- Using heavy timed practice under real Digital SAT adaptive conditions, since pacing under pressure is often the biggest score blocker

Lesson format: Sessions typically run 60–90 minutes and can focus on either section or blend both, depending on what the student needs most.

My background: I built and solo-taught a full SAT curriculum across 4 cohorts and 25–30 students, drawing on my own 1530 superscore (750 Reading & Writing, 780 Math, both 98th percentile).
